Hard to believe that it even exists, for most Americans. Unfortunately, the getting there in Europe is a bit of a hassle that can cost you a lot of time: four or more languages, arcade driving, a dozen transit methods, hütte details, accommodation, lift tickets, red train vs blue train vs gondola, weather, parking, crowds, track conditions, and timing all do a lot to explain why more Americans haven’t stumbled across rodeling already. It’s sort of a local and Germanophone’s game. Even with the best information it’s still easy to find yourself saying, “Wow. That’s not at all what I was expecting.” Don’t worry about any of that.
Let the Americans keep their clownish orange “cheese”, Yellowtail merlot, and $250 lift tickets. You can get a six-day pass anywhere in Switzerland for what Vail or Deer Valley is going to hit you for a single day. Every bite of food is sensational, and every sip of wine purely satisfying.
Go ahead and crunch those numbers.
Frankly, it’s all too way too hard for Americans and you’re never going to figure it out. We are in the Alps all winter, so you can email and try but we’re busy living the dream.

Depends entirely on your goals and the snow conditions, but generally Switzerland and South Tirol (Italy & Austria). Rodelbahn vary widely in character: some are kind of boring, some a bit more than you signed up for. Some are like Disneyland at certain times (which can be fun), others are quiet hidden gems. Some are best at night. Some are fairly athletic, others are a leisurely tour that are better to ride on “rest” days to maximize time.

Knowing where and finding a place to stay can be a deal-breaker on the Continent. Sometimes a farmhouse is the optimal scenario, other times it’s a chalet on the slopes. Sometimes you will drive everyday, others you might park for a week. If you have a specific goal, like the Big Pintenfritz, scheduling is critical. Don’t sweat it, we got you covered.
